Access Keys
FireUpFlash makes use of Access Keys to allow for easier navigation around our site. However because they can override the keyboard shortcuts in some screen readers they must first be activated by the user. This can be done here or you can access the link using the tab key on any page.
- A = Enable / disable accesskeys
- S = Skip navigation
- 1 = Home page
- 6 = Help
- 8 = Terms and conditions
- 0 = Accessibility (this page)
Font Size
The majority of the text on FireUpFlash can be scaled up or down by selecting View then Text Size/Zoom in the browser window. The keyboard shortcuts 'ctrl' + '+' and 'ctrl' + '-' are also widely supported, but Internet Explorer 7 will resize the whole page opposed to just the text.
Highlighting
In those browsers that support the CSS 'focus' property, input fields and buttons will be highlighted when selected, this allows for easier navigation for keyboard only users.
Tab Index
The tab index has been used to control the order through which the tab key will cycle through links in order to make this most effcient.
